Midland Memorial Hospital seeks a professional PBX Operator to manage a multi-line telephone system, answer calls with clear diction, and direct callers to the correct departments.
You will document events in log books, monitor alarms, and assist with emergency procedures while maintaining courteous interaction with staff, patients and visitors. PRN shifts and varied hours required.
Performs the essential duties and responsibilities and the primary functions of a PBX Operator. This position will professionally and courteously answer all PBX calls and direct all calls to the proper location. Takes physicians' calls and will transfer them to other physicians by using Medical Staff Roster. Arrives at work on time as scheduled and properly clocks in and out as required by MMH policy. All operators will give proper notice according to the Attendance Policy of absence and tardiness. This position also includes noting all documentation in proper log books (e.g., Code Blue, Code Red, Code 1000, etc.), keeping all necessary on-call lists of departments, calling all emergency procedures overhead and paging all emergency teams, maintaining a professional relationship with department and hospital staff, responding courteously and respectfully, exhibiting acceptable interpersonal skills when dealing with patients, visitors and other staff, completing annual education and other required training in services and speaking clearly and concisely when paging overhead and on the radio.
PRN: Shift Varies. Must have flexibility to work any of the following shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM, 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
