Job summary

Talentify is hiring a PBX Operator to manage the hospital's communications between physicians, nurse stations, and patients. The role involves operating a radio paging system to relay messages and ensure immediate notifications during emergencies.

The operator supports life-saving codes by promptly coordinating with appropriate personnel. The position requires high school level education, basic computer skills, and accurate typing at 50–60 wpm, with experience on hospital switchboards preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous switchboard experience in a hospital or 911 operator or answering service center experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Windows.
• Typing speed 50-60 words per minute.

Description

The PBX Operator provides communication services between the Hospital and the general public. He/she operates a radio paging system to relay incoming/outgoing messages between physicians, nurse stations, and patients. It is the PBX Operator’s responsibility to provide immediate communication for the various codes in order that life saving measures will be accomplished immediately. The PBX Operator provides immediate notification to proper Hospital personnel in the event of any type disaster.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
• Experience: Previous switchboard experience in a hospital or 911 operator or answering service center experience preferred.
• Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: N/A
• Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Multiple position computerized telephone switchboard, radio-pager, in-house P.A. system, alarm monitor board,
• Specialized Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft word and windows, ability to type 50-60 words/minute.
• Physical Requirements: Visual, hearing, and speech acuity necessary from communication purposes. Must be able to sit for 8 hours per shift
