Job summary

Garden City Hospital in Garden City, MI is seeking a PBX Operator/Receptionist to greet visitors, answer the switchboard, page staff, and direct callers to the correct departments. This per diem position requires flexibility to cover a variety of shifts and a strong commitment to courteous customer service in a busy hospital environment.

You will monitor hospital alarms, stay aware of emergency codes, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff while upholding hospital policies

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Previous PBX or receptionist experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Answer switchboard and page staff, directing callers.
• Greet visitors and provide directions to departments.
• Monitor alarms and follow emergency codes procedures.
• Maintain professional, courteous interactions with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

The PBX Operator / Receptionist is responsible for answering the switchboard and pages overhead, greets and directs people to the appropriate departments. The PBX operator monitors the Hospital alarms and must be aware of the policy and procedures of all hospital emergency codes. Ability to communicate with population served.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
• Previous PBX experience preferred.
• Previous experience in office or receptionist.
• Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer Services experience preferred.
