Job summary

College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy is seeking a Physician Billing Coordinator to edit and bill physician and clinic claims to payers, ensuring accuracy and compliance across FirstHealth clinics. The role handles payer follow-ups on denials and underpayments, manages accounts receivable within filing limits, and adds documentation of payer communications to patient accounts.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, experience with practice management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical college certification preferred.
• Five years of medical billing experience preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

Overview

The Physician Billing coordinator position is responsible for the following: editing/billing physician and clinic claims to payers for charges incurred at FirstHealth clinics, following up with payers regarding non-payment, denial and/or underpayment, ensuring that billing is compliant and accurate, managing clinic accounts receivables to ensure that we bill within payer timely‑filing limits and adding documentation to accounts to reflect communication with payers. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

Additional skills: Experience with practice management systems; office automation skills; extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD‑10 coding and insurance reimbursement; strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; good organizational skills. Has extensive experience communicating with patients regarding collection of patient balances and explaining balance details.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate. Technical College or certification preferred. Five years medical billing experience is preferred (not required).
