Job summary

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is seeking a Civilian Pay Technician to deliver professional payroll support within the Office of Human Capital, Payroll Unit.

The role requires handling timekeeping, payroll actions, and inquiries in a fast-paced federal environment at multiple duty locations including Washington, DC. The incumbent will provide training, reconciliation of payroll reports, and production of analytical reports while ensuring compliance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience, or education equivalent, at GS-04 level or higher.
• Experience providing courteous and timely customer service by phone and email.
• Ability to maintain organized electronic files for reference and review.
• Combination of education and experience may be used to meet the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide technical assistance and training for timekeeping and payroll activities.
• Provide guidance to employees on payroll programs and actions.
• Review and reconcile bi-weekly payroll reports.
• Respond to pay and leave inquiries.
• Audit payroll and leave accounts for accuracy and initiate adjustments when needed.
• Research, analyze and prepare payroll reports.
