Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners is seeking a Payroll Tax & Payroll Specialist to manage setup, maintenance, and compliance of payroll tax accounts across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

The role processes biweekly payroll for 70+ entities and about 7,000 employees, partnering with HR and operations to ensure accurate, timely payroll and adherence to laws. A hybrid schedule is available for candidates near Denver.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience, including payroll tax administration.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Experience working with third-party payroll tax vendors.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
• CPP or FPC certification preferred.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain federal, state, and local payroll tax accounts for new entities.
• Serve as primary contact for payroll tax notices, audits, and agency correspondence.
• Partner with the vendor to research and resolve tax issues.
• Monitor payroll tax compliance and maintenance activities.
• Assist with biweekly payroll for 70+ entities and 7,000+ employees.
• Research, analyze, and resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
• Support continuous improvement of payroll processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver payroll service and support.
