Job summary

Flexcar is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time weekly. You will support payroll processing, maintain accurate employee and payroll records, and help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of payroll, accounting, or related experience.
• Knowledge of FLSA and federal/state tax withholding.
• Experience with Rippling and Paycom.
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Enter and maintain employee payroll data.
• Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies.
• Administer deductions for benefits and withholdings.
• Reconcile payroll registers and tax filings.
• Support quarterly and year-end processes, incl. W-2s.
• Answer employee questions about paychecks and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with wage and tax laws and audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.
