Huhtamaki plant in Waterville, Maine is seeking a Payroll Associate to support accurate weekly payroll processing and provide excellent service to employees and managers. You will handle time data, deductions, and compliance with union contracts while maintaining records and supporting audits.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years payroll experience.
• 1–2 years administrative experience.
• Experience with WFM and UKG preferred.
• Ability to interface with all levels of employees; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on time for hourly employees.
• Provide day-to-day payroll support to employees and managers.
• Prepare weekly time and attendance data for hourly staff and submit to payroll provider.
• Ensure payroll practices comply with union contracts and company policies.
• Maintain attendance and timecard records and post journal entries.
• Assist with deductions, benefits, and direct deposit education.
• Support audits and reconcile payroll data to general ledger.
• Assist with leave, STD/FMLA, and gearing for special checks or adjustments.
