Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the Corporate Payroll function, process time and attendance, and manage weekly payroll activities. You will help maintain accurate records and assist with year-end reporting.

The role requires an Associate degree in HR or related field, at least 2 years payroll experience, and strong attention to detail and communication. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR, Business or equivalent.
• 2 years HR payroll experience.
• Exposure to labor law and employment regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with internal Payroll/HR inquiries and requests.
• Prepare responses to notices from government agencies regarding employee tax filings.
• Ensure payroll-related transactions comply with policies.
• Calculate regular and overtime pay, and include bonuses where applicable.
• Process tax withholdings, deductions, and retirement contributions.
• Screen time inputs for errors and monitor payroll reports.
• Reconcile payroll records and handle adjustments.
• Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain knowledge of payroll laws and practices.
• Assist training of Payroll Clerks.
• May prepare Accounts Payable check requests.
