Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process payroll for construction employees, ensuring accurate compensation and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role involves verifying hours, calculating wages and deductions, and supporting certified payroll reporting for public works projects.

You will collaborate with HR, accounting, and project teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain precise payroll records, while staying current on payroll laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in construction
  • Proficiency with ADP and timekeeping software
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and labor regulations
  • High accuracy in payroll calculations and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for hourly and salaried construction employees with accuracy
  • Review and verify timesheets and hours
  • Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions using ADP
  • Maintain payroll records and reports for audits and compliance
  • Manage certified payroll reporting for public works and prevailing wage projects
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA and other labor laws
  • Collaborate with HR, accounting, and project teams to reconcile payroll
  • Respond to employee pay inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Support payroll audits and related administrative duties
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and requirements
