Job summary

Jacent Strategic Merchandising is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for a defined group of hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.

You will audit transactions, resolve employee inquiries, coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Finance, and support year-end filings (W-2s, 1094/1095) while handling confidential information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of payroll, HR, accounting, or related experience with direct payroll responsibility.
• Experience with multi-state payroll; Canadian payroll a plus.
• Experience with ADP Lyric or ADP Workforce Now required.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for a defined group of employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Own wage and hour administration, including timekeeping review and corrections.
• Administer payroll setup for new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations; manage tax profiles, garnishments, and PTO/Sick Time.
• Resolve employee/payroll inquiries and escalate complex matters when needed.
• Prepare payroll reports and support internal/external audits.
• Support year-end activities and filings (W-2s, 1094/1095).
• Assist with GL reconciliation and payroll-related reporting with Finance.
