2+ years payroll experience preferred; experience with Paylocity is a plus; strong organizational and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll, accounting, HR, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with Paylocity or another payroll/HRIS system preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll practices, deductions, garnishments, overtime, and employee records.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to meet recurring deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly payroll processing for union and non-union employees, including reviewing timecards, job numbers, pay codes, union assignments, and other payroll data for accuracy.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and assist with payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payments.
• Review and audit employee payroll records to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and compliance.
• Process and maintain wage garnishments, child support orders, levies, employment verifications, and other payroll-related documentation.
• Monitor, research, and respond to unemployment claims, including gathering payroll and employment records and submitting timely responses.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliations.
• Assist with union payroll reporting and related audits.
• Respond to employee and manager payroll questions and research issues to provide accurate information.
• Create, maintain, and organize payroll reports, spreadsheets, SOPs, and electronic employee/payroll files.
• Assist with payroll system data maintenance, audits, process improvements, and special projects.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll, compensation and other sensitive information.
• Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
