Job summary

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company, a Federal Signal subsidiary, seeks a Payroll Coordinator to join our on-site team in Billings, MT. You will handle payroll records, tax forms, and benefits data, while partnering with HR and accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role runs 8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday, onsite at our Billings facility. We offer growth opportunities, competitive benefits including health coverage, paid holidays, a 401(k) with matching and an HSA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
• Working knowledge of applicable payroll regulations, including FLSA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working with financial data.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive payroll data.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues timely.
• Ability to collaborate with employees, HR, accounting, and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll records, attendance information, W-2s, tax forms, and related documents.
• Review payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with Human Resources on hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
• Process electronic payroll payments and distribute payroll checks.
• Maintain payroll data including salary adjustments.
• Handle bonuses, taxes, benefits, and other compensation forms.
• Maintain benefit expenses, including insurance and paid leave.
• Prepare payroll reports and financial information for management.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and deductions.
• Assist with payroll audits and government requests; liaise with IRS as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of payroll information.
• Perform other payroll, accounting, and administrative duties as assigned.
