Federal Signal Corporation, via Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company in Billings, Montana, is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to manage payroll records, taxes, and benefits.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of payroll regulations, and strong Excel skills; you will collaborate with HR, accounting, and external agencies to ensure accurate and timely compensation.

• Experience as Payroll Coordinator or similar role.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations (FLSA).
• Proficiency in Excel and payroll systems.

Responsabilités

• Process payroll records, attendance, W-2s, and tax forms.
• Review payroll for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, compensation changes.
• Process electronic payroll payments and distribute checks.
• Maintain payroll data including salary and wage adjustments.
• Prepare payroll reports for management.
• Respond to employee payroll questions.
• Assist with payroll audits and government requests.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling payroll information.
• Perform other payroll, accounting, and administrative duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Process payroll records, attendance information, W-2s, tax forms, and other payroll-related documentation.
• Review payroll information for accuracy and ensure required documentation is complete.
• Coordinate with Human Resources regarding new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and other employee updates.
• Process electronic payroll payments and coordinate distribution of payroll checks.
• Maintain employee payroll data, including salary and wage adjustments.
• Process bonuses, severance payments, taxes, workers' compensation, deductions, and other forms of compensation.
• Process and maintain payroll-related benefit expenses, including insurance and paid leave.
• Prepare payroll reports and financial information for management as requested.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, compensation, deductions, and payments.
• Assist with payroll audits, government requests, and communications with agencies such as the IRS.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
• Perform other payroll, accounting, and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
• Working knowledge of applicable payroll and employment regulations, including FLSA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to work with financial and employee data.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, Human Resources, accounting, and external agencies.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with UKG/UltiPro, GP, JDE, or similar payroll systems.
• Experience with Oracle, Kronos, or other payroll processing systems.
• Familiarity with payroll and accounting legislation and compliance requirements.
• Previous experience supporting payroll audits or government requests.

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience as a Payroll Coordinator or in a similar payroll position required.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel preferred.

Additional Job Information:

• Full-time, 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
