Job summary

Hamilton Company seeks a Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll for ~1,400 employees across multiple entities in the United States. The role uses PeopleSoft for time entry, benefits, and payroll processing, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers, data records, or financial information.
• 1–3 years of payroll, HR operations, or office administrator experience.
• PeopleSoft HRMS/Payroll exposure at any level.
• Multi-state payroll or multi-entity administrative experience.
• Experience managing a shared inbox or serving as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Enter and/or verify approved time records, absences, pay adjustments, deductions, new hires, and terminations.
• Review absences, attendance, and submitted timesheets; process corrections and adjustments as needed.
• Assist with preparation and pre-processing audit steps for weekly and biweekly payroll cycles; flag discrepancies for supervisor review.
• Support transmission and reconciliation of bank, 401(k), and FSA files.
• Serve as first-response contact for employee pay questions; escalate complex issues to Payroll Supervisor.
• Confirm data changes in HR systems before each cycle closes.
• Navigate PeopleSoft to enter, verify, and audit payroll data; document discrepancies.
