Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage accurate biweekly payroll for employees across multiple states at our Normal, IL HQ. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and maintain payroll records for both field teams and corporate staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and related software.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll for employees across multiple states.
• Enter, maintain, and process information in Paycom, including new hire information, hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, driver maintenance reimbursements, tips, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
• Issue or reissue physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and tax regulations.
• Maintain and audit payroll records, including direct deposits, deductions, and tax withholdings.
• Process wage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions in compliance with federal and state regulations; ensure timely and accurate withholding and remittance.
• Upload and post payroll journal entries to the General Ledger in Sage, ensuring accuracy and proper account coding.
• Collaborate with the HR and Accounting teams to ensure employee changes and payroll data are correctly captured and reconciled.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and professionally.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and HR.
• Assist with special projects such as process improvements, system implementations, compliance updates, policy documentation, and year-end processing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
