Addison Group in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Payroll Specialist I to process multi-state payrolls, ensure compliance, handle employee inquiries, and support a team of five.

This contract-to-hire, on-site role requires meticulous attention to timekeeping, accuracy, and collaboration with HR on compensation, benefits, and disability payments. You will review outputs, prepare reports, and assist with audits as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience processing multi-state payroll
• Strong attention to detail and compliance
• Ability to handle employee payroll inquiries

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process multi-state weekly, bi-weekly, and special full-cycle payrolls
• Monitor electronic timekeeping systems for accuracy
• Review and approve employee portal changes on a third-party notification system
• Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate payroll transactions
• Review outputs before submitting to the third-party vendor
• Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries
• Prepare Prevailing Wage reports with supporting documents
• Prepare payroll-related entries for accounting each payroll cycle
• Partner with HR on compensation, benefits, and disability payments
• Manage compliance with federal/state/local payroll tax legislation
• Distribute and monitor agency tax notices with a third-party provider
• Prepare materials for audits
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information
• Other duties and special projects as assigned
