Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage payroll for approximately 6,500 employees across multiple states. The role requires 5+ years of high-volume, multi-state payroll experience and the ability to process complex transactions including bonuses, commissions, equity, and salary changes.

You will serve as a subject matter expert on payroll regulations, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of high-volume, multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience processing payroll for at least 1,500 employees in a multi-state environment.
• Strong payroll tax knowledge, including multi-state payroll tax compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Working knowledge of payroll laws and compliance best practices.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and support payroll for approximately 6,500 employees across multiple states.
• Process complex payroll transactions including bonuses, commissions, equity, salary changes, and deductions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource for payroll-related questions and complex payroll issues.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Manage and troubleshoot multi-state payroll tax matters across 100+ tax IDs.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain payroll data integrity.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills for payroll reporting, audits, reconciliations, and analysis.
• Support payroll process improvements and ensure compliance with changing payroll laws and regulations.
• Ensure payroll compliance with all applicable labor laws and tax requirements.
• Assist in preparing payroll reports and responding to audits and internal reviews.
• Support documentation of payroll policies and standard operating procedures.
