Job summary

ECMD, Inc. seeks an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team in North Wilkesboro, NC. This role focuses on accurate, timely payroll processing across locations, handling changes, deductions, garnishments, and confidential records with discretion.

You will resolve discrepancies before processing, support year-end activities, and serve as a payroll resource for managers and staff. Strong ADP experience and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be in-office and within commuting distance to the Corporate Office in North Wilkesboro, NC.
• Strong organizational skills and accuracy with deadlines and priorities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and MS Office; accurate typing skills.
• Experience handling confidential files and payroll data securely.
• Strong knowledge of ADP HR/Payroll systems and multi-state payroll.
• Openness to growth and expanded capabilities in the role.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all locations.
• Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to processing.
• Manage employee garnishments and payroll-related deductions.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and tax elections.
• Process new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
• Review timekeeping data and resolve missing or incorrect records.
• Respond to payroll questions from employees and managers.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and year-end activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and serve as a payroll resource.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other HR duties as assigned.
• Support management with payroll-related projects and reporting.
