Job summary

The role requires experience with ADP, Paychex, UKG, Paylocity, or similar systems, and strong Excel skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, handles confidential information securely, and stays updated on payroll regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience processing payroll or working in payroll, accounting, HR, or related role.
• Working knowledge of payroll processes, payroll taxes, employee deductions, and wage regulations.
• Experience using payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Paylocity, or similar systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, review, and reconcile payroll data.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, particularly when working against payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
• Review employee timecards, hours worked, earnings, deductions, and other payroll inputs before each payroll cycle.
• Calculate and process payroll taxes, benefits, garnishments, deductions, and other withholdings.
• Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll and compensation records.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including issues involving pay, deductions, timekeeping, and benefits.
• Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks, payroll deductions, taxes, and other compensation-related matters.
• Prepare payroll reports and documentation for management and other internal stakeholders.
• Assist with payroll audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of employee compensation and payroll information.
• Stay informed about changes to payroll regulations and requirements that may affect payroll processing.
