Job summary

Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Payroll Associate for our client in Lillington, NC. The role handles multi-state payroll for about 200 employees and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

You will work with HR and accounting to maintain records, process new hires, verify I-9s, and manage benefits deductions. Direct hire with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of payroll experience with multi-state, multi-entity payroll.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
• ADP Workforce Now & Timekeeping experience strongly desired.
• Proficient in MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for ~200 employees across multiple states.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries.
• Maintain accurate payroll records in collaboration with HR.
• Set up new hires in payroll system and complete I-9 verification.
• Coordinate benefit deductions and reconcile carrier invoices.
• Prepare journal entries for payroll and benefits.
• Assist with audits and data extraction from payroll reports.
• Support expense report auditing.
• Handle inquiries from internal users via the Accounting Help inbox.
• Perform other accounting and reporting duties as assigned.

Job description

Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Payroll Associate to join our client located in Lillington, NC 27546. This is a Direct Hire opportunity offering excellent benefits. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills and superior attention to detail. They will be responsible for processing multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll in compliance with federal and state regulations to ensure accurate and timely payment to approximately 200 employees in various states
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee payroll records
• Setup new hire in payroll system and complete I-9 verification
• Works closely with Human Resources Coordinator to understand how benefit changes impact payroll deductions
• Reconcile benefit carrier invoices and completes departmental cost allocations
• Calculate employer 401K, HSA & FSA contributions based on eligibility requirements, maintains accurate spreadsheets and communicates funding details to vendors
• Responsible for posting all journal entries related to payroll and benefits
• Assist with various payroll and benefit audits, including extracting data from payroll reports and formatting for the end user
• Assist team with auditing expense reports
• Assist with responding to inquiries from internal users via the Accounting Help inbox
• Complete other accounting and reporting duties as assigned

Requirements:
