Job summary

MRL Equipment Company in Billings, MT, is hiring a Payroll Coordinator to handle payroll records, regulatory compliance, and data management. You will collaborate with Human Resources on new hires, terminations, and compensation changes, while ensuring accurate payroll processing and timely reporting.

The role requires experience with payroll systems (UKG/UltiPro preferred) and strong Excel skills, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and cross-team communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
• Proficiency with payroll regulations including FLSA.
• Excel and data handling skills for payroll.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll records, attendance, W-2s, tax forms and other payroll docs.
• Review payroll information for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with Human Resources on hires, terminations, and changes.
• Process electronic payroll payments and payroll checks distribution.
• Maintain employee payroll data, including salary adjustments.
• Process bonuses, severance, taxes, workers’ comp, deductions.
• Manage payroll-related benefit expenses (insurance, paid leave).
• Prepare payroll reports and financial information for management.
• Respond to employee questions about payroll and payments.
• Assist with payroll audits and government requests (IRS, etc.).
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll data.
• Perform other payroll, accounting, and admin duties.
