Job summary

EC Electric is hiring a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll for bargaining employees. You will act as a customer service ad visory to internal staff, assisting with payroll inquiries and document requests.

You will manage workflow, reconcile payroll, handle garnishments, and process time and attendance using KeyStyle. Strong communication, attention to detail, and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have high attention to detail and be very organized.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Union payroll experience highly preferred.
• Construction payroll/office experience highly preferred.
• Certified payroll experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll transactions accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with payroll team to ensure timely updates.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
• Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
• Process garnishment calculations and compliance.
• Execute time and attendance processing and interface with KeyStyle software.
• Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.
• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
• Load import files from other departments related to payroll for all companies.
• Research and respond to items needing correction.
• Weekly processing of certified payroll and employment-related documents.
• Monthly processing of MER and Market Recovery reports and OCIP reporting.
• Weekly processing of L&I intents, affidavits and employment claims.
• Weekly processing of New Hire packets.

Job description

Summary: The Payroll Specialist position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll for all of our Bargaining employees. In addition, this position will act as a customer service agent to internal employees, approaching both management and non-management positions with the highest level of communication to assist with payroll inquiries and document requests.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

2. Collaborating closely with payroll specialist team to ensure timely updates

3. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

4. Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.

5. Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.

6. Execute time and attendance processing and interface with KeyStyle software.

7. Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.

8. Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.

9. Process manual check and/or request for stop payment.

10. Load import files received from other departments as it pertains to payroll (All Companies).

11. Research and respond to appropriate persons regarding items in need of correcting.

12. Weekly running, review and disbursement of Certified Payroll.

13. Monthly processing of MER reports and Market Recovery reporting.

14. Monthly processing of OCIP reporting.

15. Weekly processing of Intents and Affidavits for L&I.

16. Weekly processing of employment claims.

17. Weekly processing of New Hire packets.
