Job summary

The Intersect Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a large, multi-company organization. The role handles full-cycle payroll for 500–1,000+ employees weekly, ensures accuracy, and supports audits in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with HR and managers to maintain data accuracy, manage off-cycle payments, and resolve payroll questions, while adhering to multi-state regulations and OT laws. This is a 100% on-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full-cycle payroll experience.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll is required.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, including OT laws.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or Paycom preferred.
• Union payroll/reporting experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail and process improvement mindset.
• Ability to communicate successes and examples of payroll process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle weekly payroll for assigned employee groups (500–1,000+).
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll, including off-cycle payments.
• Review timekeeping data, resolve discrepancies, support audits.
• Process new hires, changes, garnishments, and final pay.
• Partner with HR and managers to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Research payroll questions and deliver excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and OT laws.
