LHH is partnering with a well-established construction services organization in the western United States to recruit a payroll specialist onsite in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The role focuses on processing high-volume, multi-state payroll with accuracy, compliance, and strong employee support.

You will manage weekly payroll for about 1,300 employees, handle data audits, union payroll requirements, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 1,300 employees across multiple states.
  • Audit and verify payroll data, timekeeping records, and employee information for accuracy.
  • Support payroll operations involving multiple collective bargaining agreements and union payroll requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll inquiries.
  • Generate payroll reports and assist with payroll audits and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information.
  • Partner with payroll leadership to meet weekly deadlines and support continuous process improvements.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their growing payroll team. This role will be responsible for processing high-volume, multi-state payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional support for employees.
