Beacon Hill is collaborating with a company to bring a Payroll Specialist onto their team in Long Island City. This position will support high-volume payroll processing while assisting with payroll audits, garnishments, employee changes, reporting, and other payroll-related activities.

The role focuses on accurate, timely payroll for a large employee base, with opportunities to collaborate with HR and finance and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Assist with weekly, high-volume payroll processing for 1,000+ employees.
• Process and audit new hires, terminations, status changes, rate changes, leaves, and payroll updates.
• Collect, audit, calculate, and enter payroll data into the payroll system.
• Prepare Excel spreadsheets for weekly payroll reports and audits.
• Process direct deposits and wage garnishments; respond to garnishment inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly, high-volume payroll processing (1,000+ employees)
• Process and audit new hires, terminations, status changes, rate changes, leaves, and other payroll updates
• Collect, audit, calculate, and enter payroll data into the payroll system
• Prepare Excel spreadsheets for weekly payroll reports and audits
• Process direct deposits and wage garnishments
• Review and resolve garnishment orders and payroll-related inquiries
• Prepare employment, unemployment, and mortgage verification responses
• Assist with payroll audits and special projects as needed
