Job description

Beacon Hill is working with a non-profit in White Plains to bring a Payroll Accountant to their team. This role is 5 days onsite in White Plains and is responsible for administering and reconciling payroll operations while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end payroll on a regular cycle (weekly, bi‑weekly, or semi‑monthly) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) to payroll calculations, including wages, overtime, differentials, benefits, and deductions.
• Reconcile payroll‑related accounts, including 401(k), pension, benefit contributions, payroll taxes, and union dues.
• Prepare and post payroll journal entries; reconcile payroll to the general ledger.
• Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee setup, changes, and terminations.
• Manage payroll audits, internal reviews, and external inquiries; provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Ensure timely filing and payment of payroll taxes, benefit contributions, and related liabilities.
• Maintain payroll documentation, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
