Job summary

CFS is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Bakersfield, CA to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. The role offers a supportive environment with full benefits and a clear path to ownership of your work.

You will process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll cycles, handle taxes and deductions, and collaborate with HR and finance. A minimum of 2 years in payroll is required, with opportunities to expand payroll knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for employees on a scheduled basis.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, tax forms, and direct deposit details.
  • Review and verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related questions and provide timely support.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management, finance, and auditing purposes.
  • Partner closely with HR and finance to ensure smooth and accurate payroll operations.
  • Process and file payroll tax reports, W-2s, and other required payroll documentation.
  • Manage garnishments, deductions, benefit contributions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Assist with payroll audits and reporting requirements.
  • Stay current on payroll regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

Salary- $55,000–$65,000 plus bonus
Overview Of The Payroll Specialist Role
