Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Houston to manage end-to-end payroll for employees on weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly cycles. You will review timesheets, calculate deductions, and ensure accurate, timely processing.

The role requires strong attention to detail, compliance with payroll laws, and collaboration with HR and Accounting. You will also prepare year-end reporting, maintain records, and support audits while upholding confidentiality of sensitive data and resolving

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for employees on a weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly basis.
• Review and verify timesheets, hours worked, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation.
• Calculate and process payroll deductions, garnishments, benefits, taxes, and other withholdings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records.
• Process new hires, terminations, salary changes, direct deposit updates, and other employee changes.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely in accordance with established deadlines.
• Reconcile payroll reports, payroll-related accounts, and general ledger activity.
• Prepare and review payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support the preparation of W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end payroll reporting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and payroll discrepancies.
• Research and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.
• Assist with payroll audits and provide documentation as needed.
• Partner with HR, Accounting, and other departments to ensure accurate employee and payroll data.
