Job summary

The Parking Spot is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Chicago to join our payroll team. You will gain exposure to payroll processing, audits, and reconciliation across 2,000+ employees in a multistate environment.

In this role, you’ll work with UKG Pro and Workforce Management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while collaborating with Controllers and Finance partners. This hybrid role offers ongoing growth and competitive benefits in a dynamic, team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of payroll experience with an hourly workforce.
• Detail-oriented handling of payroll and HR data.
• Strong organizational and follow-through abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to support a large employee base.

Responsibilities

• Process and issue weekly payroll with timely updates and compliance.
• Review and audit payroll data in UKG Pro; investigate discrepancies and coordinate resolutions.
• Audit and approve timecard changes in Workforce Management; monitor timesheets and leave requests.
• Generate payroll reports, perform data audits, and support internal/external reporting needs.
• Post-payroll duties: assemble ledger reports, store payroll registers, communicate with Finance partners.
• Manage payroll inbox tasks including password resets and data accuracy checks.
• Handle uncashed checks and rapid pay card processes.

Salary Range: $65000 - $70000

Position Summary:

The Parking Spot’s is now hiring for a newly created Payroll Specialist role to join our Payroll team in Chicago! In this role, you’ll gain exposure to payroll, audits, and reconciliation processes for an organization with 2,000+ employees in a multistate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and issue weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate updates, adjustments and compliance with internal policies
• Review and audit payroll data in UKG, investigate discrepancies, calculate retroactive payments, and coordinate with management to resolve issues
• Audit and approve timecard changes in the Workforce Management system; monitor timesheet and leave request status, and follow up on missing or unapproved entries
• Generate payroll reports, conduct regular data audits, and support internal and external reporting needs
• Responsible for post-payroll duties including but not limited to, assembling the general ledger report, storing payroll registers and communicating with Controller and Finance partners
• Manage the payroll inbox by responding to administrative tasks and requests including resetting passwords, reviewing the accuracy of all data and deductions, and ensuring proper
• Manage uncashed check and rapid pay card processes

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• 2-3 years of experience processing payroll with an hourly workforce
• At least 1 year of experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management
• Detail-oriented with respect to payroll and HR data
• Organized individual with strong follow-through skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to help a large employee base
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a busy environment
