The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing biweekly payroll for multiple entities of LVHN. Perform moderately complex tasks, audit payroll records and reports, respond to inquiries from leaders and colleagues, and interpret statutory regulations. Responsibilities include processing payroll data such as time entry, retroactive payments, overtime, wage deductions (including garnishments), and payroll adjustments to ensure accurate payment. Prepare and publish payroll reports, collaborate with department leaders to resolve payroll issues, and ensure compliance with payroll practices and accounting standards.

Job Duties

  • Generate necessary reports from the Payroll system, including audit reports.
  • Analyze, prepare, and maintain payroll/HRIS data such as deductions, tax changes, garnishments, and direct deposits.
  • Assist employees and managers with pay policies, HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Review and correct payroll submissions from managers for accuracy.
  • Verify personnel actions to ensure proper employee payment.
  • Process earnings distribution splits, retroactive salary payments, and special pay requests.
  • Respond to wage verification requests and workers' compensation forms from agencies.
  • Review time records and ensure correct hours are paid, addressing errors with managers and HR as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 1 year of payroll experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong math and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications; Lawson knowledge is a plus.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry up to 25 lbs., frequent sitting/standing, keyboard use. Patient care providers may need to kneel, bend, squat, or perform CPR as required by their role.
