Job summary

Safeway in Homer, Alaska is seeking a Personnel Coordinator Bookkeeper (PCB) to manage cash accuracy, payroll tasks, and recruiting coordination. The role supports the Store Director and requires attention to detail in a fast-paced retail environment.

The PCB is a non-exempt, hourly position with a schedule determined by store needs. Reports to the Store Director and collaborates with Front-End management and Asset Protection to resolve cash opportunities and payroll issues.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to follow company customer service expectations.
• Ability to work with other employees in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask, maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail.
• Proficiency in basic math, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Daily and weekly cash-up procedures, till reconciliation, deposits, safe audits, and verification of sales.
• Coordinate hiring processes: requisitions, applications, screenings, interviews, onboarding.
• Complete payroll tasks and submit time records; monitor attendance and scheduling.
• Maintain employee files and HR records in compliance with policy and laws.
• Assist with AML, Western Union, and Lotto compliance and reporting.
• Support store operations with front-end tasks and administrative duties.
