Job summary

The Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the company-wide payroll for U.S. employees in a high-volume service center. You will oversee Payroll, Garnishment, Tax, and Banking Specialists and collaborate with Finance and HR to ensure accurate processing and compliance.

The role emphasizes people management, process improvement, and staying current with wage, hour, tax laws and audits, while protecting confidential information and driving best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience processing payroll.
• Three+ years of experience leading teams.
• Experience with Workday and Kronos Workforce Central preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing for salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
• Identify updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
• Develop staff through training, coaching, and performance management.
• Foster a team environment and drive process improvements.
• Ensure timely payroll updates for hires, terminations, and rate changes.
• Prepare records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Stay current on wage, hour, tax, and benefit regulations.
• Coordinate audits with auditors and provide documentation.
• Collaborate with finance and HR for reporting and GL work.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
