Job summary

Merraine Group in New York seeks a Payroll Supervisor to oversee payroll for salaried, hourly, and grant-funded staff in a mission-driven, on-site role. You will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance while partnering with Human Resources and Finance on onboarding, deductions, and year-end activities.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a related field and 3–5 years of payroll experience, with UKG Ready or similar systems and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, HR, business, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive payroll administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards.
• Experience in high-volume or multi-department environments.
• Advanced proficiency with payroll systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll for salaried, hourly, and grant-funded employees.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing per regulations.
• Review and approve payroll registers, tax filings, and reports.
• Coordinate year-end processing, audits, and related filings.
• Maintain payroll records, confidentiality, and system integrity.
• Partner with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and deductions.
• Support payroll system enhancements and testing.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies.
