Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Payroll Manager with union payroll experience for an opportunity with one of our clients. This role blends payroll operations with accounting duties, including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and union reporting.

Responsibilities include processing payroll for union and nonunion staff, interpreting agreements, preparing union reports, and supporting audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience, including payroll accounting responsibilities.
• Hands-on union payroll experience required, including interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
• CPP certification and multistate payroll experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and review payroll for union and nonunion employees, ensuring accurate wages, deductions, and benefits.
• Interpret collective bargaining agreements to apply union pay rates, overtime provisions, dues, and fringe benefit contributions.
• Prepare and reconcile union benefit reports, dues, and remittances.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including payroll accruals and variance analysis.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in partnership with HR, Accounting, and Operations.
• Support payroll audits and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and internal controls.
