Kennedy Jenks in Portland, Oregon seeks a Payroll Manager to oversee multi-state payroll operations across teams, functions, and priorities. You will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing with attention to deductions, benefits, and leave administration.

This role requires 5+ years in payroll, strong knowledge of wage-and-hour laws and tax compliance, and experience with HRIS/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with multi-state processing.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; CPP/FPC preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of FLSA, wage and hour, and payroll tax compliance.
• Experience with HRIS/ERP and advanced Excel for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-state payroll processing accurately and on time, including deductions, benefits, leave, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.
• Ensure payroll tax compliance and monitor wage and hour requirements across states.
• Reconcile payroll and related accounting entries; investigate discrepancies.
• Administer payroll, HRIS, and ERP systems; improve workflows and data accuracy.
• Coordinate payroll audits and maintain SOPs, training materials, and process docs.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, managers, and external partners to resolve issues.
