Job summary

National University is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee daily multi-state payroll operations for a large organization and ensure accurate, timely processing across weekly, biweekly, and monthly cycles.

In this remote role, you will collaborate with Human Resources and Finance, ensure compliance with federal/state/local tax laws, manage payroll vendors like Workday, ADP and OSV, and drive data integrity and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
• 6+ years multi-state payroll experience
• 4+ years supervisory experience
• Experience with Workday required
• Experience with OSV preferred
• FPC or CPP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervises, mentors, and supports payroll staff by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback
• Manages end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, biweekly, and monthly payrolls
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations including W-2 and year-end reporting
• Administers payroll systems (Workday, ADP, OSV) and audits payroll cycles
• Researches and resolves payroll discrepancies, audit findings, and budget variances
• Reviews payroll reports and assists with third-party inquiries and audits
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, and other teams to support business objectives
• Drives process improvements and maintains data integrity
