Job summary

Parallel Management Group in Livonia, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee accurate and timely payroll processing across the organization. This full-time, 100% in-office role partners with Finance and HR to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.

You will maintain payroll records, run multi-state payroll, manage year-end processes and W-2s, and identify process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience with a third-party payroll provider and/or HRIS.
• Paylocity experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong confidentiality and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with HR/Finance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain payroll information for new hires, transfers, and employee changes with HR coordination.
• Process multiple payrolls accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Prepare and complete payroll reports, reconciliations, and related documentation.
• Ensure payroll withholdings, deductions, garnishments, and other payments are reported and paid timely.
• Partner with HR to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
• Research and resolve payroll questions in line with company policies.
• Administer year-end processes, including W-2s distribution.
• Complete compensation surveys and related data requests.
• Maintain records related to bonus and commission eligibility.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and procedures.
• Develop documentation to support payroll processing and backups.
• Stay current on payroll regulations and best practices.
