Job summary

Parallel Management Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our corporate team in Farmington Hills, MI. The role supports accurate, timely payroll processing across the organization and collaborates with Finance and HR to ensure compliance and data integrity.

Responsibilities include setting up payroll for new hires, processing multiple payrolls, and completing year-end tasks like W-2 distributions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience processing payroll through a third-party payroll provider and/or HRIS.
• Paylocity experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing and related requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain payroll information for new hires, transfers, and employee changes in coordination with Human Resources.
• Process multiple payrolls accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations.
• Prepare and complete payroll reports, reconciliations, and related documentation.
• Ensure payroll withholdings, benefit deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related payments and obligations are accurately reported, withheld, and paid on a timely basis.
• Partner with Human Resources to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee and payroll data.
• Research and resolve employee and company payroll questions in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Administer the year-end payroll process, including preparation and distribution of W-2s.
• Maintain accurate records related to bonus and commission eligibility.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes and procedures.
• Develop and maintain documentation to support consistent payroll processing and effective backup coverage.
• Stay current on payroll regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Provide support to the Finance and Human Resources departments as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
