Job summary

TC Group in the UK is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead a busy payroll team in Kent. You will organise workloads, process client payrolls, manage pension schemes and review payrolls while liaising with HMRC and clients.

The role supports leadership development and offers hybrid working after probation. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll within an accountancy practice, with CIPP qualification or study in progress and strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience in an accountancy practice or bureau.
• Ideally CIPP qualified or studying.
• Payroll qualification or qualification by experience.
• Experience with Sage 50 payroll.
• Microsoft Office/Excel is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Awareness of confidentiality and discretion.
• Ability to work well in a pressured, fast-paced environment.
• Managerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organising workload to ensure timely and accurate payroll service to clients.
• Processing payroll on behalf of clients for varying client types.
• Pension administration with varying pension schemes.
• Review of payrolls administered by team members.
• Communicating with payroll clients.
• Knowledge of legislation enabling client queries to be dealt with.
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
• Other payroll ad-hoc duties.
