Job summary

Gold Group in Southampton is seeking a HR Pay and Reward Manager to oversee a large-scale payroll remediation programme. You will administer payments, explain complex pay calculations, and communicate clearly with around 3,000 staff.

The role requires strong payroll knowledge, experience with statutory payments, pensions, tax, and National Insurance, plus the ability to produce guidance and respond to employee queries.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll administration or remediation.
• Strong knowledge of NMW, holiday pay, and statutory payments.
• Experience handling payroll queries for employees.
• Experience producing written guidance or policy documents.
• Experience with payroll systems and large data volumes.
• Understanding HMRC payroll requirements and statutory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of payroll remediation programme by administering payments.
• Explain complex calculations for pay, pensions, tax, National Insurance, and wage components clearly.
• Assist with letters and communications to approximately 3,000 individuals.
• Develop clear guidance, FAQs, briefing materials, and support documentation.
• Respond to payroll queries and resolve issues.
• Review supporting evidence for statutory payments and recalculated entitlements.
• Ensure payments are processed in line with calculations and timelines.
• Liaise with HMRC and pension providers on tax and NI arrangements.
• Produce draft guidance on revised employment status determinations and pay matters.
• Maintain records and ensure data protection compliance.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues.
