Job summary

Genuine Search Group in New York is seeking an experienced payroll professional to manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processes. You will ensure accuracy and compliance using UltiPro, handle hires, terminations, garnishments, and deductions, and partner with internal teams to resolve payroll inquiries.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of U.S. payroll experience, CPP or FPC preferred, deep knowledge of wage and hour laws, and strong Excel skills to support audits and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
• CPP or FPC certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with UltiPro required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. wage and hour laws, taxes, and garnishments.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll using UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage payroll transactions: new hires, terminations, transfers, compensation, job changes, garnishments, deductions.
• Reconcile and validate payroll data prior to submission.
• Process special payrolls including bonuses and year-end adjustments.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll-related inquiries.
• Respond to employee questions on pay, taxes, deductions, and leave balances.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues and escalations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Support audits and respond to government inquiries.
• Manage multiple priorities with strict payroll deadlines.

• Experience with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence is a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas)
