State of Alaska - Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is seeking a Human Resource Technician 3 (Payroll Lead) to oversee payroll and personnel actions in Anchorage or Juneau. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ($29.54 in Anchorage, $31.02 in Juneau) with OT eligibility and potential in-state telework options.

Qualifications

• One year of journey technical level human resource experience.
• Equivalent to HR Technician 2 with the State of Alaska.
• Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university in any field.
• Two years in any combination of postsecondary education and human resources experience at the journey technical level.
• Two years in any combination of postsecondary education and dispatching experience.
• Special Note: HR work includes recruitment, payroll, or employee benefits; supervision of subordinates does not in itself constitute HR work.

Responsibilities

• Review and certify payroll, personnel, and leave transactions; audit records and resolve discrepancies; ensure actions comply with rules and policies.
• Provide guidance and technical support to team members, managers, and employees; assist with researching and resolving complex payroll and personnel issues.
• Lead technical resource for payroll and personnel administration under supervision of Payroll Supervisor.
• Assist with monitoring processes and ensuring timely processing of payroll for DOT&PF.
