Job summary

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Statewide Administrative Services, seeks a Human Resource Technician 3 (Payroll Lead) to ensure timely and accurate processing, certification, review, and audit of payroll and personnel actions for DOT&PF. Under supervision, lead technical payroll tasks, review transactions, and resolve discrepancies while guiding staff and managers.

Location options include Anchorage or Juneau with in-state telework possibilities; salary varies by

Qualifications

• One year of journey technical level human resource experience.
• One year of technical level dispatching experience as an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher.
• Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours equal 2 years) from an accredited college or university in any field.
• Two years in any combination of postsecondary education and human resources experience at the journey technical level (equivalent to HR Technician 2).
• Two years in any combination of postsecondary education and dispatching experience (equivalent to Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher).
• Special Note: "Human resource” work includes recruitment, payroll, benefits, personnel, or labor relations; supervision alone does not count.

Responsibilities

• Review and certify payroll, personnel, and leave transactions.
• Audit records and resolve discrepancies; ensure actions meet rules, agreements, statutes and policies.
• Provide guidance and technical support to team members, managers, and employees.
• Assist with researching and resolving complex payroll and personnel issues.
