Job summary

AZCO in Appleton, WI hires a Payroll Intern to support weekly payroll and monthly union remittances. You will collect union new hire paperwork, maintain employee records in the ERP, and assist with state reporting and I-9 compliance.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a relevant degree with strong communication skills and attention to detail, and have basic MS Office and ERP familiarity. This role provides hands-on payroll exposure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of accounting and/or payroll experience required.
• Or, pursuit of Associates or Bachelors degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with field management to collect, review, and save union new hire paperwork, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Document Social Security verifications in the employee master file.
• Verify union I-9 forms are complete and documented in the ERP; follow up on errors.
• Create union employee records in the ERP; ensure demographics and project data are correct.
• Submit new hire reports to state agencies.
• Update employee records including personal data, withholdings, transfers, and termination information.
• Respond to and resolve union employee payroll inquiries.
• Provide payroll team support during weekly processing and monthly remittances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
