Job summary

The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) is seeking a Payroll and Insurance Analyst I to provide basic accounting and administrative support across payroll and insurance processes. You will handle annuitant payroll, membership data, and correspondence, while resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate records.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree related to accounting or education and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, education, communications, or a related degree.
• Experience with pensions, benefits and/or employee relations preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with effective written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic accounting and administrative support to the Payroll and Insurance Department.
• Review forms and input data into multiple payroll/insurance systems as required.
• Respond to inquiries from annuitants and beneficiaries and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Prepare member statements and maintain accurate membership records.
