Under the supervision of the Payroll and Insurance Supervisor, the Payroll and Insurance Analyst I performs entry-level payroll, insurance, and administrative support functions related to annuitant payroll operations and insurance administration. This position is responsible for processing payroll and insurance forms, maintaining member records, updating information across multiple systems, and assisting with routine payroll and insurance transactions in accordance with established procedures.
The Analyst I responds to member and internal inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and insurance matters; prepares routine correspondence; researches and resolves basic discrepancies; and supports payroll reporting, reconciliation, and record maintenance activities. This position works under established guidelines and escalates more complex issues as appropriate.
The incumbent must have a basic understanding of TRS benefits and applicable insurance programs, along with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, customer service skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities. The ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accuracy, and meet established deadlines is required.

Compensation will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of each candidate.
TRS is an agency of the State of Illinois. As such, full and part-time employees are eligible for the State of Illinois comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental and vision coverage. All employees participate in the TRS retirement pension plan and have the option to contribute to additional State of Illinois deferred compensation plans.
