Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Payroll/HR coordinator to manage payroll processes and general HR duties in alignment with company policies and federal/state laws.

The role requires reviewing licenses and records, recruiting support, and ensuring confidentiality with strong communication skills and attention to detail. This is a full-time on-site position supporting skilled nursing facility operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
• 2 years’ Skilled Nursing Facility experience.
• 2 years' proven experience as a payroll specialist.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll application systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and payroll best practices.
• Strong work ethic and team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
• Ability to understand and follow applicable regulations, policies and procedures.

Objective

Responsible for payroll and general Human Resource functions in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.

Principal Responsibilities

• Recruits staff members from potential sources and assists in administrating job posting program.
• Screens, interviews, and recommends for hire qualified applicants as directed.
• Conducts reference checks on candidates and maintains applicant log.
• Consistently reviews and verifies employee licenses, certifications, Hepatitis B and TB records to ensure they are current; maintains appropriate records.
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or assigned at any time with or without notice.
