Job summary

The State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, is seeking a Payroll Technician (Human Resource Technician 2) in Juneau to support payroll, personnel and leave transactions for the Alaska Marine Highway System. You will work under supervision to ensure accurate processing and compliance with rules, statutes, and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Six months of entry technical level HR experience or equivalent.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience.
• One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university equals one year.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll and personnel actions timely and accurately for the Alaska Marine Highway System.
• Provide technical information and assistance to managers, employees and the public.
• Ensure transactions comply with Personnel Rules, bargaining unit provisions, statutes and SOPs.
