OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a Payroll / HR Specialist for one of its facilities in Farmington, NM. The role covers payroll processing, HR operations, benefits administration, and compliance with state and federal laws.

You will collaborate with hiring managers, handle onboarding, terminations, and unemployment claims, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. The ideal candidate has at least two years of payroll experience, a high school diploma, strong Excel skills, and familiarity

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years’ proven payroll experience.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll software.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll preparation and records for all employees.
• Maintain semi-monthly payroll for 50-1100+ staff.
• Process daily timekeeping and correct entries with department heads.
• Reconcile payroll and verify reports before transmission.
• Manage payroll variables like overtime, shift differentials, and statuses.
• Maintain employee files and ensure audit readiness.
• Ensure confidentiality of personnel records and data.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and new-hire orientation.
• Support unemployment claims and participate in hearings.
• Assist HR with benefits administration and policy communications.
